The best driving instructor in the world absolute legend, could not rate him high enough. Got me through my test with flying colours I would recommend him to anyone cannot thank him enough. I’d even consider him a personal friend very straight to the point and tell you what you need to hear. In order to get your test passed. I repeat an absolute legend.

Alan is so kind and patient with new drivers. He made me feel so comfortable throughout my entire journey of learning to drive and explains everything perfectly. I honestly never thought I would pass my test until I started having lessons with Alan. I have had so many instructors and been learning to drive for years! Alan makes you feel comfortable straight away and is laid back but still remains professional and picks up on everything. He would always tell me what I had done well with on the lesson rather than focusing on the negatives, but would point them out when needed so I could improve. He explains things with humour and doesn't take every little thing too seriously, which I find really helps (easier way to learn and makes lessons more enjoyable). In the past with other instructors my confidence was knocked a lot and sometimes I left my lessons in tears. Alan managed to work the lessons around my working hours and was always considerate. Could not recommend alan enough! Always helped me out for days and times of lessons due to having two children and can only do certain days&times. I'm not the best confident wise and having faith in myself but alan always made sure when i did something right he would say and same with the wrong things i did he'd alwayssay and correct me and constantly tell me i did good which would then boost my confidence in driving. I can't thank him enough for giving me the confidence i have to drive and thats all from alan teaching me.

100% recommend Alan! He continually supports in every aspect of driving and so calm. I don't think I've seen him get annoyed or frustrated and I'm the most anxious driver going.

His relaxed approach and slowing everything down is probably his best trait and i honestly don't think I would have passed without his help. I've had a few instructors before him and we started from scratch and got all the bad habits out so that I was able to pass my test. If you want to pass deffo choose him. Don't go with the cheapest option as they will keep you practising for longer whereas as soon as your ready to pass Alan let's you know. Plus he can have a laugh and joke which is always a benefit

I passed first time with Alan! I had absolutely no confidence with driving due to a negative experience with a past driving instructor but straight away Alan put me at ease and built my confidence up. He adjusted the whole learning to drive experience to my specific needs such as using an Ipad to visually explain things to me due to my asd. If you want to become a driver and learn to drive to the best of your ability then Alan Is the instructor for you. I was super anxious and never had any confidence in myself however with Alan I felt at ease he never shouted at me he simply guided and taught me how to drive. Alan was always so helpful booking my lessons due to my irregular shift pattern. Alan teaches you different techniques making it easier. There is music and banter which made me feel at ease. I shall miss my lessons and Alan.

Alan is a class driving instructor, he was my second driving instructor I had and to be honest I wish I went with him from the start. I would definitely recommend this driving instructor! Alan guided me and was patient with me the whole week I done my intensive course! Tried a few different instructors before Alan and really wish I'd have just gone with him from the start. Easy to get on with and a great instructor.

After a few crappy driving instructors and getting nowhere, a friend recommended Alan. Straight away he was so personable and immediately put me at ease - I actually started looking forward to my weekly driving lessons rather than dreading them. The best thing about Alan is that not only does he teach you how to pass a test, but he also teaches you how to drive. I’d be saying ‘well do I need to know this for my test?’ He’d reply ‘no, but it’s still important!’. Other driving instructors would tell me what I needed to do and didn’t take into consideration what I wanted to go over, whereas Alan would actually listen and ask me what I wasn’t confident on or give suggestions. Leading up to my driving test, I’d say things like ‘ooh if I pass...’ and Alan would correct me by saying ‘no, WHEN you pass’ - massive confidence boost! He’s so calm and patient, but also makes learning to drive fun and enjoyable! I passed first time with ZERO minors - all thanks to Alan! There’s cheaper options out there, but you really do get what you pay for! Thank you Alan!!?

Alan is fair and patient. I have used a number of instructors, from the AA, safe4life and Bill plant to some local sole traders. Previously I have spent too long on car parks. I have been terrified of lessons to the point I used to hope people would cancel and I have been Taught some hilarious things ( such as if you are emerging from a junction don't worry too much about looking left, keep yourself safe over your passenger, and my all time favourite, after 10 lessons I asked about how and when i should be using my mirrors, got told not to worry about them) Alan's been able to help me get rid of those dangerous practices, he put me at ease from day 1 and much of our lessons are spent laughing and cursing out the people who disrespect the L plate ( what is it with people seeing an L plate and turning into boy racers!?) Alan has helped me want to drive and to enjoy something I previously found a chore, allowing me time to ask questions and understand. From 5mph on a residential street because I was mortified of the giant metal killing machine I was in charge of to 60mph safely navigating all manner of hazards. I have been praised by friends at how chill I am now,had a couple of instances when out with people where I have been put at risk by other drivers, I don't even flinch because I understand the vehicle and what i need to do to remove myself from danger thanks to Alan. Don't want to give him a big head, but seriously I cannot speak highly enough of him, his dress sence however is another story ( always clashing with me!) Ohh yeah, I can park too, bay park ( forward and reverse) and parallal, who would have thought it?

Alan is one of the most down to earth people i have ever met. He took me from a nervous wreck to passing my test in 4 months. He has now taught my sister and myself to drive and i will recommend him to anyone i can. He has given me an extra 2hrs a day to spend with my family thanks to a quicker commute and i can't repay him enough for that!

I have had 4 driving instructors and Alan is by far the best. He is patient, makes learning fun and very encouraging. He is straight to the point and makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend alan, he's taught me so much In the matter of four weeks and I've passed first time. I was very nervous and he made me feel at ease straight away and also a bonus that he Has brilliant banter too lol. I came to Alan after previously doing some manual lessons . I chose Automatic with Alan. On my first lesson I was actually driving on islands and dealing with junctions. Alan is a very patient and down to earth instructor. He never raises his voice, never judges mistakes (even blonde moments)of which I had many. We had many a laugh and when I failed my first test he built my confidence back up and encouraged me to try again.Iam so glad I chose Alan as I know it would have taken me a lot longer and I'm sure would have been less fun too. I have and would again recommend Alan to learn to drive.

On the 7th August 2018 I passed my driving test. Alan always encouraged me .. Alan never gave up on me when I was doing silly mistakes, he would be patient and say try again. I had been having driving lessons with Alan for just over a year before I passed my test first time. I didn’t know the first thing about driving/cars until my first lesson. I was so nervous but Alan made me feel comfortable from day one. Always been easy to talk to and get on with and of course he has good banter! After 50+ lessons with 4 different instructors I thought I would never pass my test. Then someone recommended Alan to me. Well after Less than half as many lessons and In only a few months (Barr test waiting times) iv passed my test and actually enjoy driving. When I first met him I used to hold my breath to go round an island and was so nervous but now iv done it

When i started learning to drive with alan i had had previous lessons a few years back and took a number of tests which i failed. It really knocked my confidence but alan built it back up in a short space of time! He was very friendly and we always had a laugh but he knew when to joke and when to be proffessional. I passed first time with alan i not only felt proud of myself but i felt like he was just as proud! I would reccomend him to anyone and already have! You pay for what you get and he not only taught me to pass my test he taught me to drive with distractions and focus through them! 5 stars my mate xx

well what can I say I had been with 2 driving instructors before Alan and never got close to my test so a friend recommended him to me, the 1st time I met him I was extremely nervous but as soon as he picked me up he put me at ease, he never raised his voice at me and stayed calm throughout my lessons always. We've had a laugh along the way too. I would seriously recommend this guy to anyone in fact when my son is old enough to drive there is only 1 person I will be calling.

Alan has been the only instructor i used for my lessons and I wouldn't have changed. I did lessons with him for about a year and passed on my second test. I always felt comfortable when I was having my lessons and knew we could have a laugh which stopped me from stressing. He doesn't shout and make you feel awful when you do something wrong which was nice. He also gets you to learn with distractions which helps for when you've passed and have people in the car with you. Would definitely recommend.

I started my lessons with Alan after having no confidence and didn't feel safe at all. I previously failed two tests. As soon as I stepped in the car I felt comfortable and at ease, I was taught to do things easier than previously taught but correctly and safely. I was able to have a laugh with Alan but always felt safe. He took me all over the place and practiced a variety of roads, at different speeds too. Where do i start after having loads of lesson with another driving instructor and taking to test and failing them, I decided to change my driving instructor, then i found alan, he corrected all my bad habits and mistakes i made and taught me things my last instructor didnt, i had about 8/9 lessons with alan passed first time with him, i wished now that i would of found alan to begin with as i would of been passed along time ago,

Passing my test was such a good feeling. I couldn't have done it without Alan he is so patient and makes you feel really confident to drive in any conditions. Looking for an instructor was scary an nerve racking at the same time, as I was with a big named company before Alan but with that previous instructor I just wasn't getting anywhere, didn't feel safe driving at all with them at all an was totally unprofessional. so made me think, no I'm giving up for good but then, finally started looking around an found the man for the job Alan at Become A Driver an I'm so glad I did cause he's made me a confident an safe driver, with Alan he doesn't shout, doesn't get angry and stays completely chilled an helps you through everything even when you think, nah I'm not going to get this, which I thought a few times but he will go through everything till you feel confident that you can do it. he doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't get it straight away not once did I dread going on a lesson, far from it, as lessons were fun he puts you completely at ease as your learning new things Alan doesn't want you to just be a driver he wants you to be a safe confident driver so I really couldn't recommend anyone else for the job give him a try you will not be disappointed as I'm sat here now, with my test passed, new driving licence just turned up happy days. no more standing in the cold an wet for that bus that never turns up lol

Well where can I start. I started learning to drive at 17 with instructors getting nowhere. I then went with Alan at the age of 20 I think and learned more with him in 1 week than in the 3 years I'd been learning. 

Previously I had money problems all the time didn't get nowhere, kept having other instructors now and again, which were crap. So now at 27 I thought its gota be done. I had an intensive course with Alan, I did 25 hours within 5 days and first time I took my test on the 28th feb 2015 I passed with only 6 minors. Alan is the most helpful, calm, brilliant instructor iv had. Could not of done it without him. So in other words. Thank you sooooo much al, it was worth every penny and more and if I hadn't of passed first time I would of paid more just for him to teach me because he's worth it. Again Al thank you

Don't know how to start it off but.. I really enjoyed learning with Alan, such a patient teacher. Everything was took at my pace and I found his way of teaching very easy, I would recommend him to anyone if you want a good instructor who will teach you everything you need to know in the simplest way possible, Alan is your man! Passing my test was the best feeling, well second to having my kids. Having lessons with Alan was made so easy. When i started my lesssons i was very nervous and had little confidence. Alan soon removed that and i became maybe a little too confident. Every manoeuvre i made was made easy. My least favourite was reverse round a corner but i soon mastered it. Alan is also my brother and not once did he shout at me for the countless mistakes i made. He made every lesson different and i loved going on the fast roads. Passing my test has given me the freedom to take my kids where ever they want to go (free taxi) and being able to drive to work. Im so thankful Alan got me thru my test. If i can do it then you can. Best brother/driving instructor ever. Big thanks little bro. 

I just want to let u all know that i passed my test with alan on wednesday with 2 minors and all i can say is THANK YOU Alan B Jones i no i couldnt of done it with out you i have been with other instructirs in the past and failed a test before after years of learning. it put me off driving but decided after 7 years of not learning to go with al an instructor whos name came up 100s of times and thank god i did he stripped me of all my bad habbits and learnt me to drive properly he makes lessons enjoyable so i looked forward to every lesson and the day of my test i had no nerves what so ever and flew through it after just 5 months of driving properly im also starting our son up with him now so thanks again alan for all your help xx

To Alan would just like to say another massive thank you for helping me with my driving , gaining more confidence than I have ever had before with any other instructor. I really didn't think I would pass as took a break from driving for nearly 4/5 years so I thought today's test would have been a test before another test lol. After having lessons for five approximately months I passed my driving test first time. The service that was provided has been excellent, I do not have any complaints what so ever. Really good instructor, challenging but for all the right reasons. Never lost faith or got the slightest bit inpatient and prepared me fully for long term driving not just there and then!

Alan taught me for about 7 months before I passed my test and in that time has always been patient and calm, even when I was rushing. From the first lesson I felt comfortable in the car and learned quite quickly, when I'd mess up I'd be hard on myself about it but he'd be chilled out and always made the point that as long as its safe then its fine, doesn't have to be perfect! I never had a different teacher and I never once considered changing, Alan is fantastic and I couldn't be happier! 5*
